The strongest educational partnerships begin with a shared belief in what makes an exceptional school.

Brighton College and Intellego Education have come together to bring Brighton College to continental Europe for the first time, with new schools opening in Madrid, Rome and Lisbon over the coming three years.

New schools will open in Madrid, Rome and Lisbon, educating girls and boys aged 3 to 18. Brighton College Madrid and Brighton College Rome open in September 2027, with Brighton College Lisbon following in September 2028.

Each school will carry forward the academic standards and pastoral culture that have defined Brighton College in the UK, shaped in turn by the character of its host city, and drawing on Intellego’s experience developing schools across Italy, Spain and Portugal.

The timing is no accident. According to the Independent Schools Council, close to half a million UK citizens relocate abroad each year, many of them families for whom an education in the British tradition has remained a priority long after the move home.

Brighton College Madrid, Rome and Lisbon are not conceived as an export of a UK model. Each will be shaped by the city it belongs to, in the belief that a school earns its place rather than assumes it.

Brighton College and Intellego are not seeking to open the most schools in Europe. They are seeking to open the right ones.
